VISUAL ARTS SOCIETY

The Visual Arts Society was founded in the late 70s by a group of creative art enthusiasts who formed an association to support and promote the arts in the Cayman Islands. The VAS Watler House Studio is located on the grounds of Pedro St James in Savannah, Grand Cayman, offering members and the public a base meeting point to participate in events, including open studios, short courses, and exhibitions. Watler House also houses the VAS studio kiln and offers firing/glazing services for ceramic enthusiasts.

For CAW24, VAS will be representing its members at multiple venues, including a Pop-Up exhibition at Piccolino’s coffee shop and wine bar and a creative market next door at the Bevvy Bar on 23 and 24 May.

They will also be hosting an Open Studio at their Watler House venue for the CAW East Bus Tour. At the event, they will showcase historical artworks from the VAS Collection featuring works by Avril Ward, Carolyn Johnson, Al Ebanks, Gordon Solomon, Joanne Sibley, Theresa Grimes, Robert McKendrick, Sue Widnor, and Debbie van der Bol. Additionally, the VAS Studio will have on display a pottery wheel demo, watercolor and drawing demos, and a kids' art tent open for kids to come and enjoy. They have partnered with NCVO.
