D’ART OF LIVING, LITTLE CAYMAN
Debbi Truchan has been practising and teaching art in all three of the Cayman Islands for over 30 years. A resident of Little Cayman, she works with several cultural organizations, including the National Gallery, the National Trust, Little Cayman Heritage Day, and the Central Caribbean Maritime Institute, to promote and preserve Caymanian culture and heritage. At her studio ‘D’art of Living’, Debbi showcases a wide range of creative genres, including found-object sculptures, wood carving, jewellery, painting, and mixed media works.
For CAW 2025, D’Art of Living will present Hurricane Rafael’s Gifts, an exhibition featuring pieces created from natural remnants provided by the destructive forces of Hurricane Rafael in 2024. The works will be made from materials such as downed mahogany, coconut and red birch trees, zinc sheets from roofing, copper wire lines from past hurricanes, and various objects found on the beach.
