Susan A. Olde, OBE

Cayman Art Week’s Patron, Susan A. Olde, OBE, is a long-time philanthropist and advocate of the arts and arts education in the Cayman Islands and internationally, through support of such prestigious arts centres as the Royal Opera House, London, UK. She has served as a Board Member of the National Gallery since 2005, as Chairperson since 2017, and was an early donor to the National Gallery Building Fund, with the Susan A. Olde Art Studio subsequently named in her honour. In addition, Olde established NGCI’s Chairman’s Circle, and has made significant contributions to the development of the National Gallery Art Collection and publications scheme through the establishment of the NGCI Art Fund. In recognition of her philanthropic efforts, she was honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II who named her to the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and with a Heritage Cross from the Cayman National Cultural Foundation in 2016.
