‘BEAUTY’ BY JANINE SCRIVENS AT CAREY’S KARMA CLOSET

Using memory and history as tools to craft and compose fragments into an understandable narrative, Scrivens creates work that serves as a medium for transferring memories between individuals and reflects the multi-layered identities of women in the Caribbean. Layers of history and memory are caught in every fiber of their being. Focusing on the eyes as windows to the soul and certain facial features as the individual link to our ancestors, Scrivens creates work that serves as a medium for transferring memories between individuals.

Collaborating with designer consignment boutique Carey’s Karma Closet, ‘Beauty’ celebrates women through a series of large acrylic portraits in a bold, expressive style.

Ceramics by Danielle Wolfe will also be available/ on display.
