SIMONE’S ART GALLERY, CAYMAN BRAC

Simone Scott takes much of her artistic inspiration from her home in Cayman Brac through mediums such as painting, digital art, and photography. She worked at the local photography shop Divi Tiara, which allowed her to learn about photography and slide processing. Scott earned a full Cayman Islands Government Scholarship to attend Ringling School of Art and Design in Florida, USA. She later opened Simone’s Art Gallery in 1994, located in her parents’ craft shop, NIM Things. With the mentality that one is never too old to learn or finish what one started, Simone is currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts by taking online SCAD Zoom classes on a scholarship. Her goal is to learn as much as possible about the latest techniques to create graphic novels that inspire our youth to know more about Caymanian cultural heritage. 

For CAW, the gallery will feature works by Barbara Redman-White, Daniella Christian, Debra Vasik, and Theingi Tin Oung and sell the gallery’s namesake, Simone Scott.
